A) Program:
Our Buffalo Guards camp has implemented another unique program, which we
adopted as of our September 2002 meeting, which is called our Membership
Incentive Program. This new program is geared to give our membership an
incentive to help us recruit new members.
In return for you, the membership putting the word out, and getting those who
may have Confederate ancestor’s who have served in the Confederate service,
interested in our Sons of Confederate Veterans organization, and our camp, we
would like to give our membership some type of incentive or an award as
appreciation for getting new members in our ranks.
B) Eligibility:
Any member of the Buffalo Guards camp, who is in good standing, who
expresses the willingness to recruit any male: Friend, co-worker or an family
member, etc, to join our Buffalo Guards camp, who has the proof & documentation
of their ancestors Confederate service, and gets accepted into our camp by our
membership and review committee, shall get credit for that new member that they
bring into our camp.
C) Rules and Regulation:
All Buffalo guards members, who are in good standing, who recruit members,
from outside of any camp function or activity, who are any male descendant of a
Confederate soldier who served honorably, over the age of 12 years, and who is
excepted by our membership committee and review board, who shows proper
documentation, shall get credit for any new members for this program. The best
recommendations would be: Friends, Family members, church associates,
co-workers, work associates, reenacting friends or those who are into genealogy
or historical research or just Internet pin pals. Local or instate members are
not necessary. Out of state members work just as well.
Special note: - New members that don’t you cannot get credit for:
Any new member (s), recruited at any Camp event, Living History, reenactment,
school or any other SCV Camp function, that the camp is directly involved in,
will be disallowed, as credit for this program.
D) Rewards:
There are a number of ways for our membership to reach their goals in
recruiting.
Our incentive is: The more new members you get, the better the rewards will by
given by the camp. These awards given, will show are appreciation from the camp
for your efforts.
There are two (2) levels of rewards, which will be kept tracked of by our
committee, and adjutant. Plan A) The number of members received in one (1) year
goal, and Plan B) The number of members received from year to date goal.
Plan A: The number of members received in one (1) year goal:
Any camp member in good standing, who will get any number of new members to join
our Buffalo Guards camp, in our SCV fiscal year (August to the end of July) in
any given year, starting in August 2002, shall be given credit for that new
member (s), and be rewarded as such, for their efforts:
3 New Members:
a) Your camp dues will be paid for 1 year ($20.00 value)
b) You will be inducted as a honored member of the “Loyal Order of the Buffalo”
c) Be rewarded with a patch, of our Buffalo
d) Receive a certificate for the “Loyal Order of the Buffalo” for your efforts
and achievements
5 New Members:
a) Your International Dues paid for 1 year ($20.00 Value)
b) Your Camp dues paid for 1 year ($20.00 Value)
c) Be rewarded with our “Gold Star membership” certificate, to be added with
your “Loyal order of the Buffalo” certificate award.
d) A star added to your Buffalo patch
Plan B: The number of members received from year to date goal.
Any camp member in good standing, who will get any number of new members to join
our Buffalo Guards camp, from the time this program was adopted (in our
2002-2003 period) starting from our SCV fiscal year August 2002 to any given
year, to date, shall be given credit for that new member (s), and be rewarded as
such, for their efforts:
3 New Members:
a) You will me inducted as an honored member of the “Loyal order of the Buffalo”
b) Be rewarded with a patch, of our Buffalo
c) Receive a certificate for the “Loyal Order of the Buffalo” for your efforts
and achievements
d) Receive our Camp logo or SCV hat ($10.00 value)
5 New Members:
e) All the above mentioned
f) You will be rewarded with our “Gold Sate membership” certificate, to be added
with your “Loyal Order of the Buffalo” certificate award
g) Your camp dues will be paid for 1 year ($20.00 value)
5+ New Members:
The membership and view committee will determine future award appreciations for
our memberships efforts.
